Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
From this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord's name is to be praised.
Psalm 113:1-3 (NKJV)

If you need a cheap bra...

If you are running short of cash and need a quick alternative of a cheap bra... try this out!

There's even 2 ways of folding it! How cool is that? Although I'm not entirely sure of the good support it gives, noticing the sagging boobs...

Bored Jinny

It's been a looong week indeed, not sleeping very well, crappy weather and the stress of having a presentation tomorrow... :eyes:

And research has made me cuckoo:jumping: ... here's a photo of my fishy!no name Ain't it cute? Heheh!

And here's a proper one zooming in on the brain (top view). no nameThe blue dots outlines the tectum, the red goes along the midhindbrain boundary (which is the border between the middle part of the brain and the back part), the yellow one are the ears, the green ones are the eyes, and the nice purple one is the spine/backbone of the fishy!

And this is how a real adult zebravis would look like! no nameCute eh?

After tomorrow I'm going to dance around and party man.... because I don't think all the alcohol in the world is going to take the jitters our of my stomach now!! :-# I tried yesterday, didn't help... hahah... and I felt terrible this morning!! Woke up like at 6am!!! Hey I thought that if I'm drunk, I might get some GREAT world shaking discovery! My supervisor says no wonder her lab can't do anything, coz she has a bunch of alcoholics in her lab! Hahah! (Note: I only had a sip of beer and a tiny sip of strong Spanish alcohol thingy - can't remember the name)

Brrrr... cold

Brrrrr.... the chilly wind blowing at night when I'm cycling... feels like it's winter again! Brrrrr.... having a weak lung, a bad cough and cold and a sore throat doesn't really help either... brrrr.... freezing....

But the last few days have been great. My good friend from Malaysia during my Bachelors days is with her husband in Switzerland for 3 months, and she came to visit me here in NL for a couple of days. It was really great catching up on the good ol' days and laughing about all the funny and silly things we did during uni. And she has a knack of remembering all the stupidest things I did... and trust me, I did quite a bit of embarasssing thing back then... and obviously, she has remind me every now and then, not allowing me to forget and put it behind... grrr... but it was actually fun laughing at how silly we can be...

Went to Zuiderzee with her, and she tried some smoke haring... really good!! Much much better than the raw ones you get in those small haring stalls around. And I tried walking on stilts!! hahah!! It was funny... almost fell down... you wouldn't believe how difficult it can be... I tried walking forward, and end up just going backwards uncontrollaby.. of of course ended up falling!! Even took a video of it!! Then I showed her around Utrecht, although we didn't get to climb the Dom Tower. She came to Utrecht to have dinner with me again today, and I brought her to this nice tapas bar! Yummy yummy!! Just as good as the yummy food at the Malaysian restaurant.. although I have to say for the same price, the Malaysian food was definitely more filling! Other days she just walk around with her husband, and she enjoyed Efteling... and tomorrow, she's going to Rotterdam and the Kinderdijk... and off home she goes.... I don't really liked Rotterdam the one time I visited it... the only thing I remebered was the cube houses and that was interesting... but other than that, it's pretty too city-like for my taste (hahah... coming from a KL city gal).. but I think she's going to enjoy Kinderdijk! (I actually haven't even been there myself!)

I think I had quite an Asian weekend (had BBQ with some "Singaporean" friends (and an almost Singaporean but not quite) and then spending time with my Malaysian friend), that today, I actually said "Wahlau-eh" to my Dutch friend... she just stared at me blankly. Hahahah!! Maybe next time I should add some lahs and mahs and mehs!! Hahahah!! It's payback for all the difficult effort I have to make to say Goede, Groningen, Gelukkig and all other G-words... uuurrgghhh....

Enough ramblings... I'm off to bed... tomorrow long day at work...... presentation on Friday, and I'm still cracking my head thinking how to explain to people what my first paper is going to be.... aaarrggghh!!!

joe

I was just listening to an interview of Joe Pringle, who's like a worship leader of an awesome church in Oxford Falls, Australia (which is the mother church of my church). And he just really spoke from his heart, and I'm really inspired by his passion and fire for God! Wow! Great guy... and that's just from listening to the interview... darn.... he just came to my church the week before last, together with his dad Dr. Phil Pringle.... should have gone and said hi, but I was too "shy".... hahahah! And I missed the chance of personally interviewing him.... double darn..... sighz... but oh well, I'll probably do a crappy job at interviewing him anyway... will probably just stare at him and be speechless... Lyndel who did the interview for me did a great job!! =)

Trying to put together the magazine for my church... it's harder than I thought. The voluntary writers are not giving me their topics, and its a real challenge to design a nice elegant happening yet professional layout. Aaarrrggghhhh!!!!

A date with a Dutch guy....

A few weeks ago, I was waiting for my train to Amsterdam to go to church, and I suddenly noticed a guy standing on the platform looking at me. At first I thought, maybe he's someone I should know... like my friend's friend whom I've been introduced but forgotten.. or someone from church that maybe I've forgotten (although it's highly unlikely). After awhile, I thought well... I'm quite sure I don't know him, and I saw him inching closer and closer, and I sort of panic... I thought maybe he saw my new cool pink iPod and wants to steal it, or rob me! (I was in a drama queen mood that day). And suddenly, I saw him next to me and he asked in Dutch how long is the journey by train to Amsterdam. *slap forehead*

Anyway, so we started talking and I was still rather wary of him, still thinking he is some criminal... but I found out he speaks Indonesian and he's a lawyer (or so he says). Sorry... I'm not exactly the most trusting person. And before I got off the train, he gave me his number and I thought well... I'm going to change my mobile number in a few weeks' time, so no harm giving him my number. I can always change my sim card if I find him annoying.

He seems like a nice guy, but then he started saying sending messages saying he thinks I'm beautiful, and he likes me a lot, and he would really like to get to know me better... etc... and that's quite strange in my opinion. I'm not used to such direct expressive stuff... at least not from someone I don't know.

Anyway, after many messages, I agreed to go for a drink with him. He was nice and sweet, but he was pretty direct about wanting to be my boyfriend... and that is pretty suspicious. How can you like someone when you don't even know the person. Well, I told him it takes me a few weeks to a few months before I consider someone my bf... and well... I don't think I ever want to see him again. He obviously wants something else from me... something I do not simply give away....

Boo Portugal!

I'm not a big fan of football, but I just happen to turn on the TV and Netherlands was playing against Portugal. Just watching 10 minutes, I can see the brutality of football. And I noticed what a bunch of fakes the Portuguese are! Just a little touch and they roll all over the ground as if cringing in pain... oh come on! I'm not for Netherlands, but seeing how brutal the Portuguese are, I feel really sorry the the Dutch! The Portuguese don't deserve to win!!!!! (And they don't have cute players as well....) Some people will do anything to get what they want! Even if it's the dirty way! Pah....

What a waste of time watching football.... watching a bunch of idiots and fakes trying to chase after a ball. I must be a bigger idiot watching it! It's like it's not enough watching the politicians being clowns, now we watch a whole circus of footballers either making a fool of themselves or making themselves hated because they are so mean.

I say NO TO WORLDCUP!

Zebrafish

During the last day of the conference we had best poster awards and other things in the open air place they have next to the lake (where it's a popular place to hang out for students there). And well, maybe the organizers overlooked this fact, and all of us participants have to stand because the place was crowded with students. But anyhow, there was this bimbo sitting there with her friends. She probably dyed her blond hair black (ok... I'm being a hair racist now...).  And we were like 600+ people crowding around them, and so after awhile, she asked what is this? And we said well, it's an international zebrafish meeting. And she went all excited like "Ooooh... I have 2 zebrafish at home! I love zebrafish!!" And then everyone just looked at her. And after a moment, only did she realize we use zebrafish for research. And she was mortified. "Ohhhh nooo.... how can you use zebrafish for research? ALL of you use zebrafish? ALL of you kill zebrafish?? But I have 2 zebrafish at home!!" And I noticed that she wasn't vegetarian.....
